thing.jpgby bpcardonaComment by ArpeggioAngel: This looks like a marmot to me, but I would need someone from the mountains to verify. Good focus and clarity, wish you had all of his tail. |

Andrea-StPeteby bpcardonaComment by ladyhawk22: Good pose and great expression on her face!! It's hard to find people who look truly happy to get their picture taken :-) Or maybe that's just my friends ;-) Seriously though, you have the feel of this one down. As the others say, it could be a tad less soft, but facial expression, lighting, etc all look good IMO. |

Andrea-StPeteby bpcardonaComment by kevrobertson: This is a nice composed shot, however the skin tones look like they have a little too much magenta.
No matter, still a nice shot
Hope this is of some help.

Andrea-StPeteby bpcardonaComment by samanwar: Beautiful Photo, the only thing I can think of that would've improved this so much, is a shallower DOF to blur out the background and bring the attention more on your subject . |

Andrea-StPeteby bpcardonaComment by srdanz: It looked promising as a thumbnail, but I got dissapointed with the lack of sharpness on this one. I am not against soft-focus photos, but this one does not look appealing to me. It came across as OOF at first sight and I could not bring myself to love it as a soft image.
Perhaps if you dodge the whites of the eyes a bit it may help bring them out more and reduce the (to me negative) effect of softness. |

Andrea-WHby bpcardonaComment by srdanz: Deep DOF works well here. Since it is black&white, the background is not distracting and adds to the composition. As a suggestion to get rid of the undesirable blown highlights (which is the main drawback of this photo), I would recommend using some fill-flash so that you can reduce the shutterspeed and get more detail out of the sky in the background.
Edit to add: the hearts on her neck are flipped. A minor thing, I know, but as they are present in the photo, they should be right. Message edited by author 2005-12-15 09:52:50. |
