Autumn Gold Day 15by riversongComment by cgino: Have you ever felt like you just wanted to 'melt' into an image?? That's how I felt when I looked at this gorgeous scene you've treated us to! The colors are so warm and encompassing, as are the soft yet crystal clear textures. I'm not sure what you are referring to about cropping out the road, do you mean those few posts define a road? In any case I actually like the posts in the lower left of the image, as it gives a sense of reality to the almost fantasy feel of the total image. Thanks for sharing this beautiful image, Darlene! |

Day 16 redoby riversongComment by cgino: The other was nice, but I do like this version much better! As for the darkened corner being overdone, I'm not so sure I would have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it, because my attention goes to the pretty golden leaf standing up... |

Outside Table Day 16by riversongComment by riversong:
Thanks for the excellent tips Melethia! Do you think this is closer to being correct? Too bad that bottom leaf is out of focus and has that purple halo around it. |

Summer Day in the Mountainsby riversongComment by Melethia: Good exposure and very nice color. As your commenters pointed out, your foreground subject (and I do think it's good to have foreground subjects in landscapes when you can - gives depth to the shot) is a bit too centered - it kind of unbalances the shot. One wouldn't think centering something would unbalance something, but here it does. The problem with recommending how to reframe is I don't know what's left or right, or if you could move beyond it and still find that nifty slope of foreground you have now. Just something to keep in mind when composing - try several different positions and views - particularly when you have such glorious scenery as this to shoot! |

Outside Table Day 16by riversongComment by Melethia: Well now it depends on your taste whether there's too much blur in the foreground. I rather like it. You can close down the aperture of the lens a bit to increase the depth of field - will get you a bit more in focus, and with a long lens like this if you were close, you'll get a shallower DOF than if you were further away. Not sure if that makes sense to you or not. An option for the picture as is - use a square crop, keeping as much of that lovely colored bokeh as you can, and having the left edge of the table end at about the third line or a bit lower. |

Outside Table Day 16by riversongComment by SandyP: I can just feel fall in this photo. The leave that's dropped but still looks like it is blowing in the wind. The background blurred bokeh is radiates autumn.
Really nice!
