Walking Day 18by riversongComment by Melethia: It's straight enough. While using things as guides sometimes works, using your eye works, too. The reds are really nice in this - starting from the left with the little bit of the bush, then her jacket, the red bushes on the right, and the stop sign. It is busy and probably wouldn't fare well in a challenge because of that, but it's a very good slice of life shot. And I kinda like busy - there are things to see as you visit with the picture. |

Criss Cross Day 18by riversongComment by Melethia: You "dang" the power lines, but I love 'em in this shot!! They are what makes this different (and interestingly so) to me than a straight shot without them. Gives it character. As for USM, try not using it at all on this. It's a soft shot - leave it soft. Add a little (very little) Gaussian blur, even. And if you REALLY want to work on the power lines, try the healing brush. It will work fairly well on the narrow ones. You'd still have to clone the thicker ones, though. |

Criss Cross Day 18by riversongComment by SandyP: Ohhhhh that is so COOOOOOL!!!!!! One thing that helps cloning come off better is if you change the exposure at the top down to a lower opacity and make your brush not totally soft, but not too hard.
I love this just like it is. . .but if didn't have the power lines, it would be art store gallery work!!!
Darn, I want to be there!!!!!!

Walking Day 18by riversongComment by SandyP: I'll say the reds are interesting! Those are aMAZING autumn colors! When you asked if you should saturate it, I was in awe that you hadn't al ready saturated it! WOW! And how I love the quaint umbrella'd pedestrian.
I want to live there! I love mountains, and the resulting crooked everythings. I find that with my photos in the Rockies too. Crooked is gorgeous!

I See Youby riversongComment by keibo84: i like the composition, maybe rotating it 180 could help? not sure. I like the two branches for some reason. Also, it almost seems like the head is not in sharp focus, maybe a smaller aperture? hope this helps |

Pitcher Day 17 by riversongComment by Alicia: This is such a piece of art! Absolutely wonderful. The composition and colors are amazing. Could be a painting - and a stunning one, at that. |

Apen Glowby riversongComment by lovethelight: I wish the subject didn't blend in so much into the background, it makes it difficult to see what is supposed to be the main stubject |

Pictographs at the Columbia River Day 4by riversongComment by wickee_one: It is really unfortunate that only a small piece of the artwork was salvaged. I could look at this stuff all day.
Edit: As I was closing the picture the background colors caught my eye. They match the rock so well. Very pleasing to the eye even with the "jail" cell. Message edited by author 2007-10-19 10:16:02. |
