Ok. It's an X. :D I can see where you were going with this and I like the way you've set it up (framing/composition). With the shallower DOF I'm finding the soft focus makes it look even less focused, like the X itself isn't crisp enough. I have to look to the rocks on the side to find the true focal point. Nice color and tones overall. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

How much optical zoom do have on your camera and how close to the bird were you? This is an amazing shot. Good use of natural light.

Cool simple shot. I may have gone a little lighter on the softening filter. It makes it a bit harder to focus on an area.
