Voted earlier coming back to leave comments now. A hazy and hot day this young mare takes a much needed roll in the sand to seek relief from the heat and those pesky gnats & horseflies. The warm reddish/orange and golden hues along with the small dust cloud being kicked up invokes the idea of it being a hot and hazy day. Normally I don't like large sun spots caught on 'film' but oddly enough I think it really suits the mood and feel of this capture. The shape and color of that large sunspot to the far top left invokes imagery of the sun that much more strongly. I love how the light adds a real nice golden glow around the horse especially on the tail, the mane, and mouth. And now I am going to spoil the review with a critique:-) Sigh, does she HAVE TO do that...I know, picky picky right:-) Often times people can connect more readily with an animal or person if they can see their face and/or expression. Seeing & looking into this horse's eyes and face would, I feel, help cement the mood my showing it's reaction to the action it is taking.
