Little Kid Noiseby sir_bazzComment by DrAchoo: Darling portrait, not one, however, where I think grain is adding anything. I'm thinking grain adds a feeling of moodiness, melancholy, nostalgia or antiquity. This little pixie isn't giving me any of that (and she shouldn't). I do see grain there, but I'm also looking for serious grain for my top scores. I'll give you a neutral 5 which winds up not helping or hurting you much. Takeaway: she's a cutie. |

Little Kid Noiseby sir_bazzComment by CEJ: Very cute child and a really great capture. Nice colors and lighting. But I just don't see any image grain. In fact the image is quite crisp looking. |

Little Kid Noiseby sir_bazzComment by elemess: I can see the subtle grain, but I don't think this is the right portrait for using it. Why would you want to rough up or dirty such a happy, angelic face? I'd like to see this without the grain effect and cropped a bit tighter. |

Little Kid Noiseby sir_bazzComment by Jutilda: I really want to give this an unbelievable score, but in the spirit of the challenge.... WHERE IS THE GRAIN???? She is adorable and the capture is spot on, but it isn't creatively using grain to enhance the photo. But, God - that's a cute kid. |

Our pride and joyby sir_bazzComment by sir_bazz: Them are the breaks.
I was reviewing the shots I'd taken over the past few days for a challenge entry and this was the one that I was most happy with. It wasn't until going though the verification steps that I realised I'd pp'ed some imperfections from under the nostrils and on the left cheek which is against the rules of the basic challenge.
Needless to say it was a stupid thing to do. |
