That's a great effect, I love it. It has major appeal, but who knows, maybe a little much on the sky ( i mean a little) but i still think that it's very very great! :)

I have no idea how you accomplished this all within basic rules, but a very, very interesting image. Though I am not a big fan of desat, it works well for this image.
