Promise Ringby LEONJRComment by glad2badad: Hmmm...nice idea, execution is off a bit. First, the image is very small given that the maximum allowed is 640 pixels. Second - why the dust spots? It looks like the focus is fine at the front of the ring. Looks like the photog was standing in front of the light, evidenced by the dark reflection centered on the ring and the diamond seems dark as well. Nice effort - good luck. |

Promise Ringby LEONJRComment by Brad: Lighting is a bit harsh here. Reflections & soft lighting sources are so critical in something like this and tough to do as well. Not sure what the black specs are... |

Promise Ringby LEONJRComment by joek1d: Eeek, this doesn't make me want to buy this ring. The diamonds are basically non-existant, the gold is brassy, the reflections don't belong there, the highlights gotta go, and please, please, please, clean your sensor. Sorry, been there and done this. Shot about 300 peices before getting it "almost right".

Promise Ringby LEONJRComment by p3wiz: This shot does not work for me :( The dust spots above the ring and the shallow DOF detract. |

Water Fallsby LEONJRComment by Strikeslip: Nice work, LeonJr! I think it has great flow. I'd use black & white, though, the sepia isn't my cup of tea for this shot. I'd like to see the unedited version of it, looks like a great place to take photos. |

Water Fallsby LEONJRComment by cbeller: Hey Leon. Looks like you did a good job capturing the photo. Not sure what time you took the photo, but if you wait until later in the day or use a polarizer or neutral density filter, you will be able to use a longer exposure without overexposing. By exposing this longer, you'll get even more of a blur effect in the waterfall.
I have to agree with the comments below, the color treatment you used really hurt this shot. I better color treatment probably would have put you in the mid 5's.
Congrats on your first challenge entry. |
