I can't tell you how many of those leaves I've seen around here, and not once have I thought that it was "heart" shaped. Guess I didn't look hard enough. Neat idea for the challenge. I wondering if the image may be a bit too busy to create major viewer impact (higher score). The background is distracting I think. Sorry for "thinking" out loud...just trying to figure out why this photo seems kind of "ok" and how it could move to the next level. Wish I could be more helpful. I agree that the composition holds some interest here and I see why you went for it - something a little different. Cool tree roots with a perfect reflection - very organic shapes and the little splash of green leaves is nice. A little more contrast and saturation of the green maybe and I agree with you about the need for better focus overall. Don't beat yourself up sister! Hey...you got 11 votes of seven or better! :)

Ahhh... I see. I think the lack of focus on the branches let you down here. Otherwise, I thought this to be a great composition and the reflection beautiful. You were definitely on the right track :)

Bumping this up on second look, beautiful highlights and contrast, you can almost feel the textures her, very nice crop as well lets you focus on the wheel which is so well done.
