Vantage Pointby NovaTigerComment by lexus77: Beautifukl amount of dof, really making the bug stand out. Light could be a little better, but sharpnes and composition are great. |

Spinal Tackby NovaTigerComment by BAMartin: Critique Club Critique
(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) Well composed. The funky colors are what makes this photo special. The colors are what makes this photo stand out, as well as the interplay between the tacks and their shadows.
(2) BACKGROUND The background is perfect for this photograph, and the texture is very interesting.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL I wish the tacks were sharper (focus) as this is the one biggest complaint that i have with this image.
(4)MEETING THE CHALLENGE This photo does a very good job of meeting the challenge. Unfortunately with the focus problem and the lighting problems, there is little to hold the attention of the viewer.
(5) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO This is a photo that might be worth rteshooting, Concentrate on focus and lighting, and play with the colors a bit to find an end image that you would be proud of. |

Vantage Pointby NovaTigerComment by Kavey: Toning works really well to add warmth. Love the composition - great decision not to follow rule of thirds but to position the branch and beetle at the far left of the frame. |

Vantage Pointby NovaTigerComment by Barry: Meets challenge description. 10
Meets definition of minimalism. 10 Ordinarlly I would think this is a minimalist photograph, because I believe that would have to require a closer look of the beetle. BUUUUUUT.....The way you have included the beetles envornment in the image I truly believe the image is taking about the beetle.
Technical. 5 I think you need a little more focus on the beetle, but the problem may be some of the artifacts that I see in the image. (I like images that look more like tradional photographs without the digital super focus and hyper activity to the surface so I am not taking about going heavy on the focus just minor adjustment and leaving the depth of field the way it is.)
Artistic. 10 I like the surface tone of the image. I also like that the image that seems to have the artist signature on it. (not literally, but style wise) Art is not about perfect products but rather simple comunication.
Average score..............................................................................8 |
