Elizabethby twm122Comment by dipaulk: The colors are lovely, as is the model, and I love the backlighting of her hair. I'm afraid the extreme soft focus may hurt the final score, but since I've never ribboned I'm certainly no expert! LOL! I think if you'd kept the focus sharp on her features it would have helped. |

Elizabethby twm122Comment by Art Roflmao: Went a little too crazy with the soft focus, filter, NI, etc. Washed out her whole face. Otherwise good lighting & comp. Cute girl also, although she doesn't look thrilled. ;-) |

Elizabethby twm122Comment by moodville: The full frame composition is good and so is the use of the flowers as props. The soft focus technique can certainly be effective but as it is applied here I dont think it really works. The 'glow' has made several sections of the image overexposed, namely the ribbon in her hair and various spots in the background. The eyes are naturally draw to the lightest section of a photograph first and so these areas are where the viewer mostly notices. In the case of the ribbon this distracts from her face. Even though you want the face soft you still want to have the details sharp, namely her eyes. Creating the effect on a new layer allows you to use the eraser tool to delete the effect in certain areas and restoring the original sharpness. In this case her blue eyes would be greatly enhanced by having them sharp to engage the viewer. |

Elizabethby twm122Comment by Beetle: Some people HATE soft focus. I like it very much, but only on certain pics. This one is perfect for it, in my opinion.
However, it would look even better if you re-sharpened certain parts of it, especially the eyes.
Nice effort, the backlighting is delightful. |

For Rent?by twm122Comment by Zed Pobre: Blurry and harsh on the eyes. Adjusting highlights and sharpening might have helped a little. |
