Eiffel 2040 originalby MelethiaComment by SandyP: Deb, that is so beautiful in color with the fountains showing. I know I'm in the minority, but I do generally prefer beautiful color photos over black and whites. This is amazing! |

Opera by MelethiaComment by PenelopeK: I agree with Judy, the turquoise just "pops" on this and it's wonderful how the shapes of the balconies show up in different ways in the final image. Wonderful creation, Deb. Message edited by author 2010-01-06 17:51:32. |

Flurriesby MelethiaComment by Paul: OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:
Positives: Such a dynamic image - I think you must have moved the camera vertically on a tripod in the snow. It works tremendously well. The monochrome, high contrast treatment is perfect for the subject matter.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: A very effective image - a brilliant fusion of subject, technique and edit. |

Saleby MelethiaComment by SandyP: Well, all that exhausting cropping paid off, because you ended up with a very cool photo! But. . . what is "Convert to Profile" ?? Lately, I've been having a ton of "issues" with online colors, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something that might help ???
Anyway, I love the street photo. The red just adds so much glam to it :) |

Saleby MelethiaComment by vawendy: I have to disagree with you, I like the crop! I didn't vote on this one, but I thought this was quite striking! |
