Challenge: Umbrella (Basic Editing)
Collection: Challenges 2009
Camera: Canon EOS-7D
Lens: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS
Location: Wiesbaden
Date: Dec 29, 2009
Aperture: f/4.5
ISO: 1250
Shutter: 1/250
Date Uploaded: Dec 29, 2009

It rained! So I went downtown and walked around shooting people with umbrellas. :-)

This is a pretty significant crop. I'd initially shot this with my umbrella overhanging into the shot, but decided I didn't really like it. After the crop, there was a sharpen, a convert to profile, a resize for web. I swear the processing was so exhausting I had to take a short nap before uploading. The cropping was tough, though. I don't like to crop much.

Quite darkish at 3:30 pm, by the way. This was shot at ISO 1250.

Well, all that exhausting cropping paid off, because you ended up with a very cool photo! But. . . what is "Convert to Profile" ?? Lately, I've been having a ton of "issues" with online colors, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something that might help ???

Anyway, I love the street photo. The red just adds so much glam to it :)

I have to disagree with you, I like the crop! I didn't vote on this one, but I thought this was quite striking!

Ditto Art's comment! I didn't realise this was yours Deb, but anyway it got a high score (one of my highest). Loved it.

The mannequins on the right are watching. Not the male one in the middle of the scene, though. He is too busy trying to pick up the girl mannequin.

The bright cheery color on a dreary day combine well for a fascinating photo...nicely done!

Love the bright red and the line of mannequins, who seem to have personalities. They make the perfect foil for the umbrella obscured and anonymous pedestrian.
