Afternoonby MelethiaComment by pineapple: Like you suggest, it's a random profile of shopping society, Jesus Christ included (on that T-shirt). But there are more wheels there than one might normally expect. it reminds me of Brownian Motion in liquids. Perhaps society is a type of fluid.... makes one think. There is a bit of a vacuum in the centre though. |

Available Seatingby MelethiaComment by BrianR: I gave this a 5, not because of the photography, but for the presentation, IMHO I would have made the top and bottm border about half an inch wide to create a larger prentation.....Keep Smiling. |

Afternoonby MelethiaComment by posthumous: It is fun to let the randomness sort itself out in my mind. You have to admit that you have something easy to attach to here: mother and daughter. This is the first thing that settles out of the chaos, and almost immediately. This photo would have been completely different in a second either way, because the intense stare of the mom makes it clear that the two are together.
The next thing I notice is the motion blur (yes and some blur blur) on the child, giving her a sense of ephemerality, which contrasts with the focus of the mom, as though she is gripping hard on sand.
Then I notice the Jesus on her shirt. The body of Jesus is superimposed on her own. Jesus' shining heart is on her stomach, his head on her chest, almost reminding me of Madonna Laktans.
Then I notice the foreground bicycle that is tangled up with mother's form. And since it's foregrounded I wonder if it's my bicycle, and I can't help comparing it with all the little bicycles in the background, the baby bicycles, part of that strange assemblage of parents and children serving as backdrop for the main drama of Earth Mother whose messianic daughter bursts into the pure light of Eternity. Or something like that. |

I Wish That I Had Duck Feetby MelethiaComment by MaryO: I like the expression on the foreground duck's face. Seems like there should be more attention on the feet if that's the point of the image ... maybe try desaturizing everything but them and/or use a much tighter crop? |

Marathon!by MelethiaComment by MattO: Low angle I like, B&W I LIke, different framing to get that darn pole out of the background is the only thing I can fault with it. |
