Automotive maintenance technicianby MelethiaComment by SaraR: Blimey, I didn't have this down as yours, Debs - you found (and processed for) some colour! It was in my top two of the challenge, and I came back to view it several times during voting. |

Automotive maintenance technicianby MelethiaComment by SaraR: What an incredible photo! The repetitive walls f0rm an interesting lead in line, with the placement of the mechanic spot on. The diagonals make this very strong compositionally - my eye is led in initially by the blue walls then along the back wall to the fr left, and back diagonally via the inspection pit placed on the 'third' to the mechanic. The processing is just right for the photo, with the emphasis on textures. But it is the ambiguity, the story that really makes this. A garage with no car, a mechanic with no work. excellent. |

Bicycle glowby MelethiaComment by timfythetoo: I am looking forward to you being back in Germany too. Love to see more images like these. While your work from the Middle East is truly fascinating, your images from Germany have more feeling to them in a happy, care free way.
Love the reds in this. They stand out so nicely in the image. |

Earthen wallsby MelethiaComment by posthumous: ok, I want you to take this same shot under twenty different lighting conditions... oh wait, not in Afghanistan anymore. From what I'm hearing about Afghanistan, that's probably a good thing. |

Minesby MelethiaComment by posthumous: The thumbnail looked like a kite caught in a tree. I opened it up to something more sinister. Even without the thumbnail, this photo requires a process of realization that adds to its emotion... in fact, I would say the photo is about that realization more than it is about any particular subject. |
