Pillars I (white border)by KaveyComment by unknowndeath: Kavey sorry I didn't say one thing the border ditch them they don't work. I don't think border work for images very often and with your work they are quite distracting you have to train your eye to focus more on the meat of the image and not to wonder toward the border. I think what destroys your composition with this particular image maybe nobody else will tell you is that you have no strong point of view. No place that stand out for the beginning and an abrupt end that ends without cascading any depth to the image. Its like a mattise painting where the 3D world meets the 2D. The designer doesn't quite make the transitional escape or approach to showing the extended sketch of the whole scene. I can tell you are the author of both images because they both show the same insight and draw for perspective both are missing a fleshy body and only have a shell. Thank you for sharing your work. |

Pillars IIby KaveyComment by unknowndeath: Well I don't know. Everyone else really loves your two images. I suppose there is something there they could be nice. I just feel strange looking at them as though there is something severly missing from them both. The angle seems off. I am not trying to be rude just a weird feeling while trying to look at your images. There is not shapes colors light that really stands strikingly out at you as you view it. Forget cropping it doesn't help it out very much. These images make me feel as though I am caught in an unrealistic nightmare where I am screaming yet no sound can be heard even though the place is perfect for echos. Well thank you for photographing and I wish I could nail it it but I think it the feeling the angle maybe the time of day something is really missing it kind of like a photograph of a ghost town and yet not showing being a ghost town if that makes sense to you. |

Pillars I (white border)by KaveyComment by PaulMdx: Another very strong shot. The aspect is really nice, and although I'm not normally keen on borders the same colour as the shot, this works nicely for me (just dark enough to hold the pic in). I'd possibly have given this a 7. Maybe 8 depending on the competition. |

Pillars IIby KaveyComment by PaulMdx: Excellent shot, Kv.. I think I would have chosen a lighter border, possibly white, to improve contrast in the shot. As it is, it would definitely have got a high score from me, probably an 8, maybe 9 with a different border. |

Pillars IIby KaveyComment by jpochard: I do like this one alot. The other one is okay, but I much prefer the composition of this one. It does give the feel of being there. I like how the far end of the walkway is still visible and not a dark shadow, and I like the hanging light. The shadows really make this shot. Like the tones, but too bad about the water drop! I would also change the border to a darker shade. |

.by KaveyComment by Mousie: I'm a little disconcerted by the out of focus foreground in the this one, I do like the composition though... just wish more were in focus! :) |
