I like the color of this image. the image is just a bit too blown out, but aside from that it is technicaly good. However, a terrycloth bed and a red bone doesn't quite tug on the heart strings of the viewer.

I really do think this shot is perfect the way it is. It's beautifully composed, it's sharp, the colors are amazing, there no distracting elements at all. Against this serene backdrop are only two man-made objects - any other objects in there like a building or a fence would've ruined it for me. I agree with Justin that the "no lifeguard on duty" sign adds to the photo. I'm not sure about his suggestion about adding someone in the tower...or anyone in the shot for that matter. True, it would be an entirely different picture, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about it. Actually, now that you mention it, I really would like to see that alternate version just see what I'd think about it. :) Anyway, this is going into my favorites!
