Comment by colorcarnival:
I really liked how the green stuff all blurred together like a you'd see in a painting. The cormorant is a nice gift for the scene.

I'm not sure what causes the fringing on the trees at the skyline. I've noticed that in some of my photos as well. This is nicely composed though. This would be a great place to try a long exposure for the water.

What's that above your left shoulder, Robert (up against the ceiling)? Are those bamboo steamer plates, like for tortillas?

Those "tree-like thingies" are actually trees. Each year, after the last winter freeze has melted, at the first minus-low tide, they walk out along the edges of the channel and "plant" these trees to mark the channel; there is a whole long string of them, they are bizarre at extreme low tide.

It is done this way to save money, as it's a very variable channel and its perimeter changes every winter.

We have the same paper towel holder in my office. The 'friction arm' keeps falling off. :-(

ETA, it's a captivating photo, IMO, lot's to see. Also, I'm a fan of the processing.

Sweet view, nice processing. Better than a snapshot, though. But still a great memory.

Looks like he's doing tai chi or some such. Or watched the movie Karate Kid one too many times. :-) Nice Topaz.
