I am not really sure what i'm looking at. your title is Fish Tale. So I am thinking that i'm looking at an actual photo of a Fish Tail. Since you spelled Tale so mean "a story" I am thinking that maybe there is a story behind the tail? To be honest, without the title, I would have no clue at all what this was. Setting that aside, the relationship to childhood is that you fished when you were young?? Anyway, the photo is really pretty, I assume there was some color editing going on. I like how it fills the frame, and the lighting appears to be good. There is a white blemish over to the right just under half way up that is a bit distracting. Interesting photo. Good luck in the challenge.

UPDATE: Darn it! I have changed this back and forth between a nine and a ten 3 times this week. Ultimately I have decided that since I always have taken off at least one point for not meeting the challenge it would be hypocritical of me not to do so here. So, a nine it is and I refuse to let myself touch this comment area again. I LOVE the picture though. 9, just-married

Damn I love this shot. Why couldn't the challenge have been sea life or such?! So, I'm making a stretch and pretending that you meant this to be a mermaid so that I can justify in my mind not taking off points for missing the challenge. Every little girl fantasizes about mermaids after all. GORGEOUS color. nice texture, detail, lighting. I'm not sure how this relates to the challenge, other than the fact that kids go fishing from time to time. Is this a fish tail? If so, it's a nice macro, but it doesn't envoke feelings of childhood memories to me...

What the HECK does this have to do with CHILDHOOD WITHOUT CHILDREN! It's a very pretty and colorful 'abstract', but IMHO does NOT meet this challenge.
