Rich always has a wonderful way of expressing what i can find difficult to put into words ..
the not rating this challenge .. i felt exactly the same ..
and about the child too ..

this is one photo i wont forget in a long time ..
to even have the confidence to take such a photo .. of someone suffering ..
that is what often distinguishes a good photographer from a great photographer ..
going where angels fear to tread almost ..

many congratulations on such a raw image .. and of course the blue ribbon .. :)

Very nicely done Lev. The drama is terrific. The way the smoke covers one of her eyes so that the viewer focuses on her looking with the other eye is so perfect for this image. It really brings out the emotion of that instant.
