YUMMY!! Man, I want some ice cream now!! I love what you chose to take a picture of. My few suggestions would have been to have more light and tone down the hot spot. I think that it needs to be present because you can see that it is smooth and shiny. I love the background, however, I wish there was more detail in the ice cream and hot fudge. Overall-I think that this is a nice shot. And the reason I feel that it is not GREAT for this challenge is because a cherry has no texture to it. It looks the same real close up as it does from a normal distance. There is nothing revealed by the camera that you can't see for yourself. I think what makes a GREAT macro is when the camera has zoomed in sooo much that textures and colors are noticed only by your image and not right away by your eye. I like the subject (yum!) and I think the composition is very nice. The black background along with the dark red cherry makes the picture too dark IMO. Nice work.
