Lenten Roseby igoofryComment by saracat: Much better with the close crop. It really makes you focus on the flower much much more. Very nice. |

cascadeby igoofryComment by SJCarter: Again beautiful timing with your exposure for the water. Lovely shot - except for the tree. Anybody got an axe? ;-P Still a nice capture. |

CNF cascades1.JPGby igoofryComment by SJCarter: Spectacular scene! Love the silkiness you achieved with the water - perfect exposure. My only nit is that it seems tilted, but otherwise very nice. You do waterfalls well. |

Lenten Roseby igoofryComment by saracat: Good detail and texture on the flower petals and center. Could maybe benefit from a tighter crop.
In case you're wondering, the flower is a hellebore, also known as a Lenten Rose. |

Light raysby igoofryComment by SJCarter: Cool! I've tried numerous times to capture light rays, but usually can't get them to cooperate. Looks like you did well. Nice capture. |

Gee Creek twin fallsby igoofryComment by SJCarter: This is gorgeous! I like the depth that the different levels of terrain give this image. Nice rich color tones too. My only nit would be that the highlights in the water are a bit too bright/blown. Otherwise, I LOVE the silky feel to them - great mood you've established. Terrific shot. |

Gee Creek twin fallsby igoofryComment by Niten: I think you need to compose this slightly differantly. Eliminate some of the right to make it less centered. I dont really find it distracting, maybe its just the fact I have been trained not to center anything. Add a little on the bottem to keep the white water in the photo(it will make a better print without white touching the sides). Its easy to compose to tight on running water because your not really seeing it as it will appear built up.(maybe that wasnt real clear) You may have over done the highlights just a little. If you had any models with you the rock on the right is begging for someone to sit on it. Believe it or not I really like this one, my favorite of the group.
Yes I know its easy to sit back and point stuff out after the fact. And yes I am this hard on my stuff as well. |

Small fallsby igoofryComment by igoofry: Niten, thanks for the suggestions. I'm trying to get more details on all of these, but I shot so much this weekend, I am running behind. I think you are right, too much in this shot. What actually caught my eye was the rocks behind the water. I might try some cropping to see if I can improve.
Thanks, Goofry. |
