Ya know, I scored this a 5 during the challenge, but I think it has an awful lot of potential. Your focus and DOF are good - and you've got a good natural color base. The shot comes across as a little on the dull side though IMHO. I think if you bumped up the exposure in PP (not sure what editing software you use), increased the contrast & color sat, then did a little selective burning, you could make this puppy pop quite a bit more. It's a very cute pic and technically pretty sound. :-)

i like the idea, and the composition is good. but the flash is too harsh. try to use ambient light with aonly a little fill flash. most cameras have a portrait mode that has a lower level flash and lets you cpture the light around as well.

Great idea. Chalk leaves an overall dusty, blurry, muted feel, try bumping up saturation to give a color pop to compensate.
