Sailingby rkligmanComment by Grandad: This got one of my top scores, if I were to nit pic, the boat is pointing down slightly, kind of turning out of the shot, excelent shot tho for the challenge. |

Sailingby rkligmanComment by JawnyRico: Sweet picture, love the angle. You really had a great location to shoot this. Love your subject and how well it stands out. Nice work. |

Sailingby rkligmanComment by Kavey: I have searched through the challenge for those entries where the negative space is more than just a plain black or white backdrop because, whilst I think that technique often makes for some really strong and high impact images, I̢۪m particularly drawn to entries where the negative space is relevant to the subject itself and actually contributes to the impact of the picture in a contextual as well as purely compositional way.
Whilst the image is quite cliched it’s a cliché for a reason – it works. Certainly the negative space together with the jaunty angle of the boat combine to give an impression of speed, freedom and fun. The limited colour palette adds impact too. |

Sailingby rkligmanComment by mpreslar: Beautiful! Would be stronger with the boat a little higher and further left in the frame, but well done!!!! |

Flamingoby rkligmanComment by W.R.Miller: Very nice details in the feather and on the beak. I'm really glad that you didn't try to over-sharpen this image. Sharpness, contrast, exposure and white balance all look really good. Beautiful animal... Good luck with the challenge!!! |
