I like this tighter crop, it really becomes about the biker dude. Not to mention it elimnates all the background clutter. Speaking on the technicals, I'd be happy for this kind of quality, period. The fact that you got it on the fly, speaks volumes.

I like this shot also. The focus is sharp and the DOF is great. The signs in the background are out of focus enough to not be distracting. The cigarette hanging out of his mouth is classic.

Hey that's my dad! Just kiddin' but it does kinds look like him! I really like the shot. I am trying to work up the nerve to take a some picures while riding with my husband, I'm afraid I will drop my camera! Maybe after I get my backup. Anyway, I degress...great shot,sharp, good color. Wonder what it would look like as a B&W with some extra contrast? But I am a big B&W fan.
