Nice sword and I think I get the message, not 100% sure but for me this shot would look much better with a more head on shot, not quite so angled but if you want to stay on the angle, possibly waiting until it was a little darker or get a shadow effect? A knight in tarnished armor looking defeated would be perfect! LOL but how many knights are around these days?

The water makes eye drop off the bottom of the picture. IMO this needs to be cropped to keep the "focus" on the that amazing stump of a city planning.

The gray clouds add to the photo. The dead tree adds somewhat to the photo, but it starts to destroy the plus side as one looks higher into the frame. I don't like the tangled limbs. Overall, I think just the sword against the sky would have made a stronger impact.

Focus is off on the sword and right on on the tree behind it. I would rather see it the other way around or both in focus....I usually don't like the idea of taking away color to much but in this case I think a B/W or sepia might give it more feel.
