Your subject is dead center, usually not a good approach.

Colourful and sharp, but perhaps a little more depth of field would be nice. So that, for instance, the main bloom is in focus over its entire width.

Although cropped a little too close, this is a nice picture using the light from the flame. The looks more like the camping laterns we still use today instead of the old fashioned oil lamps but still a nice picture.

David - i gave a 4. Lighting pulled you down imho. Because of the dull light you were unable to get a sharp focus on the image. Because the foil plaque on the from of the bolt is buckled, it escalates the visual senses into believely thr image is less in focus than it avtually is. It also wouuld have been nice to see the two sections of chain that the lock holds together - it seems to me like they have some interesting detail - perhaps moreso than the lock itself.
I am not a fan (and i think if you peruse the challenge result, ditto most voters) of an image of a object that is tightly cropped to the boundary of the subject, and shows no detail of the situation photograped. Now i don't know what the real sitiuation was, so i am going to make up an scenario to illustrate how i would have taken this picture.
It seems like the lock is hung from the chains (rather than the chains being tightly pulled arouns something. I am goinf to suppose the background was dark i would have shown more of the chain hanging down like a necklace with the lock as a tricket in the right third of a landscape image. The middle third would be chain and the last third just background. Conversly is they was all sorts of clutter in the back that wouldn't add to the image i would have gotten more up close and personal with the hoop of the look and the two chain links it is attached too. The viewer would not have neded to see the whole lock to understand what it was, and the contrast of the two metals would have been complentary.

Goodness me i have written you a novel!!

Beautiful shot, and I particularly enjoy the droplets. The green background is thrown off nicely enough, but I can't help but wish the bokeh was more severe. 7
