Witheredby JeniYComment by CNovack: The muted tones of browns and blues nicely complement the scene for they are cool tones that add to the feel of 'sadness' that it projected by the wilt of the withered flower. Love the sharp details that we can see in the texture of the withered flower. The border too complements the scene without being overpowering. The worn border projects the sense of age which plays well with the main subject which is the dead flower. |

Shoesby JeniYComment by CNovack: The body language here speaks of waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I don't know what exactly I am seeing in the backdrop but when I first saw the thumbnail and even now I STILL think of tattered wing angel sitting in a chair waiting ...perhaps patiently in purgatory?!? I know that your main focus was on the shoes but for me it is the pose that speaks of long waiting and those 'tattered' partially seen 'wings' in the backdrop. I am surmising that the crackled texture is to give the feel of age to complement the mood/feel of waiting for a long time (perhaps she is 'Waiting for Godot';-)?) but I feel it distracts more than adds. A warn feel around the edges would bespeak age and long wait more IMHO. |

More Neighborsby JeniYComment by Melethia: I like their curly warm winter fur. And that they seem to be somewhat but not overly interested in your presence. At least not interested enough to get up and investigate. |

Solitaryby JeniYComment by Melethia: Not only does it look like a birdhouse, but that large looming limb in the foreground makes it seem as though the birdhouse has fallen. I really like the picture here but am not sold on the overlay for this one. Something a bit more subtle, perhaps? |

Red and Whiteby JeniYComment by Melethia: Look! It's a barn! (And a shed!) :-) Love that dark sky and your processing really works nicely here. |
