At The Plateby ace flymanComment by SDW: Good picture and meets the challenge [6]. However I would like to comment on your photo a little more. I think you photograph would of been more powerful if just a few minor details would of been different. I feel as if I'm the ump squatting down behind the plate. The problem is the pictures center of the rubber is slightly to the right of the center of the plate drawing my eyes to the right. If it would of been lined up vertically in the picture IMO the composition would of been better keeping my eyes to the left. Still a unique approach and good photograph. |

Mountain Streamby ace flymanComment by ace flyman: Thanks for all comments. This stream has about 10x's amount of water runnng through than normal. The main part of the stream is just rushing with water. I took this couple of hours before the challenge started, it was the first day in 20 with out rain.......Thanks again......ace |

i 'sby ace flymanComment by ace flyman: I dont get to hung up on scores (lol). But I really thought this was going be a least in the mid 5's. Taking a second look after the challenge, I would had cropped off more of the trees to bring more focus to the i's.
Yes it was a stretch as far as meeting the challenge spirit, I have a weird sense of imagination........Thanks for all comments...........ace

Old Farm Houseby ace flymanComment by ace flyman: I think this came out ok, the weather was real bad. Wish I could had taken a couple of days to look around, I live in old small town outside the big city, there are alot of old barns and structures like this one. One of those shots taken couple hours before the challenge, had to crop it as is, to much distracting objects around. I tried to crop out as much of the white sky as poss............Thanks.......ace |

Fish Storyby ace flymanComment by ace flyman: This was taken on a rainy NW day. Just down for Bonnaville dam near Portland Or. Really surpised it scored as well as it did. Had a tough time processing this one. Yes heavy crop, over saturated which you see in the face. The water is running fast, we've had a lot of rain lately, the water is pretty brown. But, I really like the capture of the two enjoying there catch..........Thanks........ace |

Rookie of the Yearby ace flymanComment by ace flyman: I've could had did a studio shot or one of the outdoor shots for this challenge, but ? I like to have a little fun and step outsided the box a little. The backgroud to me isnt distracting, its adding to the shot for excitment, fire works for being name "Rookie of the Year". I realize the title shouldn't speak for the shot, but it can help closed minds to open up a little. Anyway good or bad, I'm enjoing myself Thanks........ace |

At The Plateby ace flymanComment by jmlelii: It's a good composition, but my eye goes right to the neon green softball, which im sure isnt the subject since its out of focus. I think I would have cropped this so that the ball didnt distract. |
