The tonal mood in this picture is very good.

Please don't take this as a criticism, it is just an observation: I can't tell what the chain is and I'm not sure how the candles fit into the overall message. (My pictures aren't scoring too well either, so take this with a grain of salt.)

Sorry, but this is just too red and too dark. (I can sort of come up with a reason for red, but it's a stretch, but dark? I reserve that for setting a mood) The necklace is very, very hard to see, esp. the cropped part. The candles...cropped and questionable, too. (You've heard this book isn't all that new, haven't you? joke) 5 Swash
Addendum: Darkness - orange gold tablecloth, binding and candles are well lit. Book cover w/necklace chain (disappearing in the distance) seem to dark to capture the details of the chain. Cross cropped and out of focus.

Good lighting and good original idea...I think that you should maybe try it again minus the candles...they kind of distract from the bible. I love how the light brought out the cracks in the leather of the binding...very visual! Good job! -8

The idea and lighting are great, however the other objects seem to distract rather than enhance. Different cropping, showing more of the objects, might have been better---or leaving them out and letting the book stand alone.
