A very satisfying image to look at. Certainly in the candid genre. What is most appealing is the universal pose. We have all been there and we truly sympathise with the subject. Well, in one slice of time you have no doubt captured the character, the internal sweet agony and elevated the package to a wonderful portrait exemplifying the battle between interest and apathy. But heck, the mountain is not really that high, it just appears so. Eventually we grow and conquer.

Annyong haseo! I spent a year in Korea myself, teaching kids just like this one! It's a beautiful country. This shot really takes me back. I have a folder full of my kids. What was his English name? :) They all seem to have them. (I named a kid "Marx" once. Funny cuz I meant Groucho and he spent a weekend researching Karl.

The picture is slightly out of focus, but that doesn't detract from the image. He's focusing hard enough! I don't like the reallllly light blue shirt distracting from his face tho - his concentration is key and I would burn the shirt a little to darken it enough that it didn't distract me.

like the lighting you selected -- sets the mood well... like the modern buildings for contrast (know they cannot be avoided by one of left detracts from overall effect) One of my favorites this challenge

Excellent night photo here, very interesting gate. They don't build them like that anymore. Only think tha should have been done (I think) is a little more cropping on the bottom, the speeding car lights at the bottom are very distracting. Instead of the photo drawing me towards the gate it's looking down at the pretty lights. Other then that excellent work.

Good capture. The lights bluring by and the high rise in the back ground in this shot give a nice contrast between past and present.
