I think this is a really fine product shot.

With the december rules you could have removed the shading in the lower left and the right side that would have given this the perfect crisp appearance.


I think you have the DOF spot on. I really wouldn't want it shallower. This way you can make out the details of the entire object, but still be focused on the leading edge.


Possibly a little more room to the left, the crop is a tad tight.

Very good work, imo.

Nice crisp contrasty image. I think it cold be improved with a more difffuse light source to soften the shadow.

I like the capture of the metallic textures. I think a bit more depth of field would improve this shot as the colored panel could lead the viewer more into the picture.

This is a very good shot of this dog and a good example of soft focus. The technique and tones are very good. However, I think the image would be improved if there was a little more shadow detail (in the dark fur). Also, there's some overexposed areas on the nose, but I don't find that to be significant here aesthetically.

General aesthetics are excellent. The expression and capture is good enough to make us all care for this dog who we don't know. That's perhaps the most significant accomplish here. A picture that appeals to many.
