Maths the mother of lawsby insaneComment by Zal: This works well as a B&W photo--nice tones, and good composition. However, I really don't feel a connection to "Authority". I think I know where you are headed--that Math is the "root" of all the sciences, but it's a pretty big stretch for me. 5. |

Maths the mother of lawsby insaneComment by Skip: this would have been a strong entry in the bw challenge, not so sure about this one. yes, the rules of math are indisputable, but they are unknown by most and easily ignored. a major component of authority is the ability to command respect, and for the purposes of this challenge, you would need to address the ability to enforce the laws, and/or the consequences of not following (for example, a person stretched out on the ground with a large rock next to him: the enforcement of the law of gravity). all the same, i'll score this a 6 and wish you good luck! |

Stargateby insaneComment by pcody: I guess that's me that said it should be off center. Have it centered. What I was thinking of was the parts that show the earth thru them. To get rid of those, you would need to crop. They tend to bring more reality to the picture than is warranted.
Sorry I didn't pick up on your visualization of the picture. I did give you a six. |

Stargateby insaneComment by insane: Thank you all for voting on me !
And now some explaining :)
It's a STARGATE and you're about to fall into it. It can't be off- center!
It's in front as a gate so that you can walk into it :)
The middle is also black intentionaly, like in a whirl- you can't
See the center untill you enter. The leading lines are pulling you right into the black unknown, well that was my intention.
Oh it's not back lit it's lit from above. It was reflecting light and it created a very interesting light show.
Here is the original in colour the way it came out of the camera :)
