Too bad the lighting is so harsh. It looks washed out as a result. A nice scene you have captured though. Good composition, though I would have preferred a bit more head room for the herring.

First off let me welcome you to DPChallenge and tell you, you have the idea, the photo is very nice and does meet the challenge without question, the composition is interesting and your biggest downfall was your size.

You will do much better if make your longest side 640 and then the other side will adjust to that. Usually 480 unless you did some cropping.

If you have any problems or need some help resizing don't be afraid to ask. I'll be looking forward to seeing more from you in future challenges.
