Old Blue-Eyeby IsaacComment by emorgan49: His eyes are definately blue, but this picture doesn't make them look very pretty, does it? If I were your dad I would be mad that you made me look so old. But I think the oldness is what makes it a good picture. The focus is very nice, and even thought you used a flash, the colors came out good. Sometimes the flash makes the colors look washed out or pale. The light is a bit too bright down on his cheek There is a lot of detail in your picture, every little hair shows up, I like the way his eyebrows curl.
To make the picture better, I think the compostiton could have been better. It might be more interesting if the eyeball was looking at the viewer. But then, of course your Dad would have had to look right into the flash and you might have blined him. and gotten "red eye"....so maybe that's not a good idea. How about if you had remembered the rule of thirds and put the eyebal just a bit lower in the picture. I think that would have made it more interesting because the human brain likes to look at things that are about a third of the way on a picture. Yours is one third from the right but it is centered from top to bottom.
A nice portrait of your Dad. Keep up the good work. |

Old Blue-Eyeby IsaacComment by GeneralE: The effect of the flash on the skin in the lower part is a bit harsh. Having the specular highlight overlap the pupil instead of the iris would be better, although it's nice and small. Good focus, detail. |

Old Blue-Eyeby IsaacComment by PTLParsons: One of only a couple to get it in focus. My eyes hurt though, helping him hold the eye open so wide. It evokes that. When a photo can do that it is good. PTL 9 |

Old Blue-Eyeby IsaacComment by Kavey: I don't wish to offend - but this is not at all attractive to look at. I had to make myself look again to score and to comment because I thought it only fair to comment when giving a low score.
This shot highlights very oily skin (needs dabbing with a tissue or something), blood vessels in the eye whites, and what seems to be pretty greasy hair.
I doubt the model comes across that way in real life but with such a close we can see more than we might notice in RL.
I have tried to state my thoughts politely but since what I am saying has the potential to offend, please feel welcome to write and ask me to delete the comment before the voting finishes if you so wish.

Old Blue-Eyeby IsaacComment by Swashbuckler: Hey old man! (At least your eye brows aren\'t aging!) Really good shot! Somehow, I see that as a grey eye, but that would be picking nit. Fab shot, and easy 8. Swash |

Old Blue-Eyeby IsaacComment by GolferDDS: One of many Blue Eye pictures, but I like the character of this one. Very sharp. Makes me want to see the whole face! Lnede |
