I think this is the cutest picture. In my opinion it meats the challengee in the following ways:
Its chocolate but in a different form.
Its in focus
Its humorous
I didn't like it in the following ways:
Its a little blown out on the cow closest to the camera
its its too dark on the right from the heads down
the grass needs a little work (but I won't count that against you)

Over all though I think this is a very cute picture and I am going to give it a 7

If your using wood vs steel as your balance as suggested in the title then it is more of a contrast then balance. When i look at this without the title it is not a representation of balance.

Nice idea and take on the challenge theme. The dof and composition are good. The only thing that I could suggest is to maybe use a filter to reduce the washing effects on the colors that the bright sun has produced. Nice shot regardless.
