Clearly Judi, you have to live in a large city to qualify to enter the Street Photography Challenges. I have travelled through some of the most remote places in Australia, and to be honest, the guy in your photo would be considered overdressed (as I am sure you have witnessed too).

Keep up the good work and pay no attention to the big city slickers that need an outback holiday (or should I say vacation :) )

Now for my spin on your shot, awesome. I really love the processing and if you look long enough your processing has given this shot near three dimensional effects. Colour tones and shading are perfect for this setting. I too cannot work out what is in the background, however as I said above, it does not mean that it is not so.

ETA - A place called McKinlay, Queensland springs to mind. Passed through here a few years ago and the guy that worked in the petrol station could not even tell me how far it was to the next town with fuel.
