GearWerkzby mcmurmaComment by indigo997: Cool perspective. I like the color and you did a nice job with the lighting. I like when the subject fades into the bg. The subject just doesn't do a lot for me. Great technically, very good at meeting challenge....I couldnt come up with a good subject either ;oP ~indi |

Beneath Cocytusby mcmurmaComment by Gordon: I liked this shot a lot - very well created. I had to look it up too, so kudos for making me learn something and making the shot interesting enough that I cared to find out :) Hope your wife is feeling better now |

Beneath Cocytusby mcmurmaComment by mcmurma: For those of you that wondered how the shot was done, here goes: First we froze about a 1 inch thick slab of ice in a baking pan, then laid that on top of a glass end table. We did use a little green food coloring in the ice, and the tabletop had a green cast as well. Then my Wife was kind enough to flail about under the table trying to look like a totured soul ... Cocytus is a frozen river/lake in Hell. In Dante's Inferno its where traitors like Cain and Judas were punished for their sins of envy (hence the GREEN cast) by being trapped under the ice. Most of the green color was photoshop. I didn't expect a lot of folks to get it, and I had hoped it would be better recieved than it was. What surprised me was that, green as it was, so few were able to make the connection to ENVY. Go figure. |

Beneath Cocytusby mcmurmaComment by wingy: The shot is cool... but I really can't tell what is really going on (or how it relates to sin). The face is slightly too obstructed to be able to make out the expression well enough.. a little more clarity might help. However, it's a very interesting idea and I like the shot and composition in general. 7 wingy |
