I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.

With all that really goes on within the streets of NYC, this looks like you ducked out of a door way, snapped a shot, and that was it. A man on a cell phone really doesn't do a thing for me as a candid. No one is really in focus. There is no story here, nothing of real interest, nothing out of the ordinary to make me stimulated by the view. It's just a 3 for me I'm afraid.

a mecca of candids is all around this shot, but not in it. kinda just feels like a 'head cam' shot without the life of the city. average. 5

This is a good candid but not a great candid. The colors work, the composition works, its in focus. But, I want something a little more. I can see you know how to use your camera. And I'm not saying I am an expert at candids - far from it. But show me something I don't see a million times a day. Like the guy in the back picking his nose. Or a person laying in the sidewalk. You know - capture my attention. Make me want to study the picture longer. The depth of field is excellent BTW. I almost wish those people weren't in the way so I could see the rest of the scene. No offense to those people, but they aren't that interesting. You have to make THEM the scene. For me, they are in the way of it. Hope that makes sense. 6

Slightly too blue for my taste, but well seen and well handled.

If you would have done some saturation and levels/curves on this but obeying the basic rules I think this picture would have stood out a mile. It is screaming potential but just doesnt have that kick.
6 but I think it could have been at least a 9/10

Nice idea. Image seems desaturated, I think more saturation would be better since the great thing about colored chalk is the color.
