I'm one of those for whom the sight of blood, even in the context of the miracle of a new little life, is disturbing. Looking beyond that, I find this a powerfull image. Think it would be better if processed as the mirror image, with the baby facing to the right. I read years ago that Westerners read from left-to-right and that photos that flow the other way are sometimes at a subconscious level disturbing to that audience, don't know if it's true, but just a thought. ...7...

First time that I see this online, but I must say: Very tasteful and well done.
You can see this is a Caesarian Section, but is not too messy. I love it how the head comes out and sees the first light and all this hands are around him (or her) to carefully help him into the world, just like your title says.
I hope they both are doing fine?

This image is both aesthetically disgusting and heartwarming. Unpleasant to view yet it makes me feel good. Thats the beauty of life I guess. This must have been an amazing moment. I really like the contrast between the sterility of the gowns and gloves and the new life. Did you try it in black and white ?? I think that might solve some of the unpleasantness issues and focus attention on the miraculous nature of life 7.

yes, you have achieved a bokeh effect, but i find the foreground blurring a bit disconcerting. i love the colors, but also have a hard time with the extreme brightness on the right. now that you know how to get this effect, the key is to put it to work for you. move around, changing your angle and perspective until you find a background composition that compliments your subject completely. good luck!
