Composition is executed very well here as the roof lines lead my eye straight to the bird. Looks to be just a tad over sharpened. I like the framing you chose also. It really compliments the birds colors.
The sky is your biggest enemy in this shot as it lacks color. Cropping closer would have hurt the composition though. Not much you could do with basic editing - but for your own private use/print I would try to add some color to the sky.

Pet Meby cloudsmeComment by ShutterPug: this looks to be a little over-sharpened. By shooting this macro, you leave me to think the deers fur is bristly like a porcupine - but on the contrary, it is soft. A close-up could have shown this without going to the extreme of macro. Sometimes macro causes the texture to seem harsher than it truly is. |

Spots Behind Barsby cloudsmeComment by jemison: good job using large aperture to keep the bars out of focus. too bad that the nose is partially obscured by a bar, but that is a slight niggle. good lighting and focus. |
