Burnin' Oneby LindaLeeComment by LindaLee: At a night race (AHDRA Motorcycle Racing) some years ago, my husband was walking away from me and stopped to light a cigarette. All I could see in the dark was his face lit by the lighter and cigarette. The whole "picture" looked very mysterious and intriguing and I loved how the "negative space" of the dark emphasized his face. I have always planned to do a painting based on that image in my mind, but thought that it was perfect for the Neg Spc challenge. Thank you for all the great comments, I appreciate everyone's time - and congrats to all, I loved the images in this challenge. Linda |

Burnin' Oneby LindaLeeComment by Gracious: Even though I HATE smoking (we ex-smokers are the least tolerant) I love this image. Very, very nice. Strikes me as a cowboy, and reminds me a little of my own beloved husband. Good use of neg space to meet the challenge, but what I like best is the wonderful lighting and coloring. Good luck in the challenge! Grayce aka Gracious |

Burnin' Oneby LindaLeeComment by timj351: Very well done. Perhaps a little more information or detail in the hands. This meets the theme quite well. T |

Burnin' Oneby LindaLeeComment by lisae: I love this! Very dramatic. There's a really ominous sense that this guy is waiting for something, in the middle of the night, and you wouldn't know he was there except that he's lighting that cigarette. 10 - lisae |

Burnin' Oneby LindaLeeComment by Kavey: I love the way the blackness surrounds him and bleeds into the shadows of his face, hat and hands - the darkness really drives us in close to him - the way the light shows us his only his face and hand makes it very intimate. This wouldn't work with any other background. Feels like a shared moment in time. 10, Kavey |

Burnin' Oneby LindaLeeComment by paganini: Awesome. The light is just right, the exposure is right on. Wish there were more negative space though. 9 paganini |
