Heatby AleciaComment by Gordon: Funky macro of a Galileo thermometer. Some of the highlights seem a bit blown but an interesting shot all the same |

Heatby AleciaComment by jodiecoston: Excellent work. I have one of these Galileo thermometers and have tried repeatedly to capture it this well (with little luck). Fits nice with the challenge, too. 9 |

Room With a Viewby AleciaComment by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Alecia :)
I think you did a good job with your photoshopping in this image. The transition between the pasted image and the actual window is very smooth... I'm not really qualified to comment much on that aspect because I never mess with that sort of stuff myself :)
I like the off-balance lighting on this image as well... I believe that it makes a nice amount of impact. The only possible suggestion for improvement that I could make on this image would be to crop a little tighter on the left and the right. There is not a good way to put this window off center because of its shape... that being the case, I think a square frame would work well in this case. Clipping the left and right would make this not look so dead centered and possiby create higher impact by making the detail in the scene through the window a little more visible...
Keep up the great work :)
John Setzler

Room With a Viewby AleciaComment by lisae: Nice montage. This challenge seemed to be a great way for people to reuse their nicest photos by sticking them in a window :P. But this one works really well. The window itself is a great shape and beautifully lit, and the rainbow in the sky is a great touch. That almost looks like a watercolour painting in there. |

Room With a Viewby AleciaComment by kandyj: Some jpg artifacts in the window frame (you must be using a camera like mine!). The lighting could have been a bit more even, also. Interesting interpretation of the challenge. I do like how the images in the window seem to have a glowing effect, though. |

Room With a Viewby AleciaComment by LindaLee: Interesting shot, and I like the "scene" in the window. I would have preferred a tighter crop on the window, showing a smaller area of red, and really would like more light on the woodwork of the window. It's somewhat dark and shadowy; I like the way you have the light on the window frame on the upper right side where the detail in the window frame is a little "crisper". |
