Thought I would come back and leave a comment for a fellow Pentax owner. I gave this image a 6. There are a lot of things about this image that I like. Primarily, the high contrast and the way you used DOF to help provide a defined focal point to the image. However, with the out of focus pieces in front and behind it, it forces the viewer to search a little bit longer for the focal point than many voters take when voting for a challenge.

The basin is too dark for my liking. Better lighting to bring out the "ripple wave" would have improved this shot.
