Hayden Fallsby xtabintunComment by Zoomdak: Lovely shot (I love scenic shots like this), I'm wondering if you tried a slow shutter speed shot on this one, but still looks good with this. Composition seems a little heavy of the left. |

I'm not concerned as much with the performance of my pictures (though, admittedly, its a darn good feeling to rake in a 5.5+). I submit because I want to stretch myself to see if I can take a picture each week of two different themes, to improve myself as a photographer (which is another reason I didn't submit this picture, it wasn't really expanding my capabilities as much as making fun of the voters) |

Sophisticated Travestyby xtabintunComment by pcody: If you are going to poke fun at the masses, do it well. The drawings are visual enough to get your point across without having to leave the outside area as a hint to the viewers. Fill the frame and I like thatcloudthere's idea of having the shadows come towards the camera. I'd even think a flashlight beaming out from behind the sun's position would have been fun. A lower camera angle would help to. And think of what you could do to get that heavily manipulated burn/dodge look in the sky.

Sophisticated Travestyby xtabintunComment by thatcloudthere: Let's pretend it was in focus and the light source was above and behind the sun, so that shadows of the fake paper trees were cast towards the camera (just as if the sun was real)...
I would score it a 7. |

Sophisticated Travestyby xtabintunComment by gruvin: Looks like a pretty standard stage prop model to me. Checking dictioanry... nope, no mention of "art" for "prop" or "stage." You might make it to the finish line this time. :) Good luck! |

Chief Leatherlipsby xtabintunComment by Jeileen: Xtabintun, Is this you? Gonna have to find another subject. But probably your best shot of this subject. I love the contrasting colors. |

Chief Leatherlipsby xtabintunComment by adine: Bright and dramatic. I like the proportion of land. sky and sculpture. Seems to find the right balance. Must have looked fabulous a week or two ago when the line of the horizen was red/orange/yellow with fall foliage. The bareness seems to create a more heroic mood. I really enjoy this. 8 |
