Red Hairby SteveJComment by Gatorguy: The expression isn't very flattering, the focus is off and the cheeks are kind of blown out. This looks like a very snap shotish photo to me. |

Red Hairby SteveJComment by dwterry: Suggestions for improvement: Move the model forward (away from the wall) to get rid of the background shadow. With a shallow depth of field the move might also lessen the background distractions on the right. Use more ambient light ... or less front-on flash. On camera flash tends to "flatten" the face and, in this case, over expose a bit. Ambient light might have given more of a three dimensional look. On off-camera flash to the side would accomplish the same thing. |

Red Hairby SteveJComment by dsa157: there is a pretty harsh shadow behind her head and the chair is a background distraction. Next time, movethe subject further away from the wall to avoid the shadow problem. |

Red Hairby SteveJComment by skylen: Hmmmmm, looks like an on-camera flash was used here. Booooo. This makes bad shadows like we see in the upper left corner on the wall behind her, and really flat unflattering lighting for the subjects. Also, it's a touch blurry. Best of luck! |

Red Hairby SteveJComment by myqyl: I think this could have been greatly improved by more attention to lighting... The light source reflects off your subject's face rather harshly in several spots. Also it produced a shadow on the wall... Try defusing the light by bouncing it off a wall or bed sheet. But that's just my opinion, and what do I know :) |

Red Hairby SteveJComment by claudia26: the skin looks too shiny , an extra light source from the side would have helped fix the shadow as well |
