This made me squint when it popped on my screen. I suppose that's what happens when you look into the sun. Nice being able to capture the "halo" around the sun. Although I'm not entirely sure what the exact thing we look for in negative space, I'm having problems determining it in this picture. A lot of things are going on in it.

Don't find the composition very pleasing. Like the blurred background but don't like seeing a bit of the other orange, nor the top two leaves andthe main object is dead center.

This photo has really great focus and lighting, and I love how you can see the pretty variety of colors in the background too. I wish that the poor little orange didn't have battle wounds, but hey, new is new, no matter how you look at it, and this is about as new and fresh as it gets. By the way, I've never actually seen an orange on a tree...looks kind of funny hanging there. lol You didn't use that "rule of thirds" but that doesn't really matter to me yet, cause I'm not 100% positive how that works yet, but heard that it makes a much higher impact on the people that know how to use it. Personally, I like it how it is. Oh well... Great job on the photo and good luck with the challenge.
