LOWLANDSby cassilda_terryComment by Dirt_Diver: IMO I think that you are slightly too far away from the idea you wanted. The colors are a bit dull.
Good luck with your entry. |

Racing with Backstroke - Finish time: 1:10, Place: Firstby cassilda_terryComment by d_warner: Beautiful photo. For a 1:10 in the 100 Backstroke, this girl has a smooth stroke, and her turnover is fairly high too. I know how hard it is to shoot in poorly lit indoor pools. I swam for 16 years. One of my favorite shots is the start of backstroke races when the swimmer's back is arched out over the pool. Unfortunately, flash photography isn't allowed, and once again, slower shutter speeds make it hard to grab. I think you did a great job here. Probably could have bumped to 800 or even 1600 ISO as the Canons generally have low noise at ISOs even up to 1600. It probably could have gained you some shutter speed. |

Living Freeby cassilda_terryComment by raish: Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning.
Wee bit soft on the focus here, but lovely pastoral tones and that magic moment of attention. 7 |

Ready To Pounceby cassilda_terryComment by Blackbox: I like it! The framing is backwards, should be more dead space where the cat is looking but I like that too. I wish the highlights could have been just a tad bit brighter but I think it's too 'oof' for that. I can tell you tried to sharpen it (in the whiskers). I think if you had converted it to black and white and turned up the contrast you'd have achieved the desired effect you had inteneded? I might be wrong but I don't think the other voters will like your photo that much. Just in case, I'll help it along and go with an 8. |
