Git lost kid, ya botha meby bmartuchComment by JuliBoc: Bob, this is a wonderful moment, made me laugh. I gave it a 7 because the pure white background didn't feel right. The dogs look like cut-outs. You certainly wouldn't want a background to distract from the subjects, and with the dogs being such different colors, you have to be careful that one or the other doesn't get lost in the background.
It also looks like you may have removed some of the leash on the mastiff(?). I think it would be better to take it out completely. And there is something black behind the mastiff that sort of distorts the dog's shape.
Of course for DPC advanced rules, you can't remove objects or backgrounds, but now that the challenge is over, I think you could make this shot even better. |

Git lost kid, ya botha meby bmartuchComment by silverfoxx: I love the title!!:) I think it's a great capture, great moment and a wonderful "communication" between the two dogs. maybe I would like to see a wider crop, I don't know why, just my feelng.
I can try to guess why it hasn't scored higher, but you probably know it:
there is no hdr, no beach sunsets, no smooth faces, no - you know:) it's a great moment, great capture and a very good "friendly" candid shot - as far as I understand it can't score high... |

The doorway to hell!by bmartuchComment by scalvert: LOL- it took me a second to find the face. You could have cropped the top down to the horns and a bit of the messy bottom to get the image bigger for more impact. Nice face, though. |

Git lost kid, ya botha meby bmartuchComment by skewsme: I tried to leave a comment on this last week, but dpc timed me out and I lost it. Just wanted to say that I love the capture and the exposure and focus and the crispness. Excellent title too. Also, I am submitting a guess that this might be bmartuch's - because it sure looks like his doggie! |

The Harsh Effects of Winterby bmartuchComment by jaysonmc: Nice shot. I really like the lines and contrast in this one. The stark white versus the yellow/brown works well. I really like how low to the ground you were. Technically it is terrific. I might have changed the composition just a little. I love the back hills, keep that the same, but the front focus seems a bit too centered. Nonetheless a gorgeous photograph. |

The Harsh Effects of Winterby bmartuchComment by Melethia: I didn't get a chance to even look at this challenge. This is my kind of picture - something I'd see and want to shoot - so this would have received a good score from me. Nice, quite, not "in your face", and pleasing composition. Quite a good take on "winter", and the shallow DOF serves this well. |

Downtownby bmartuchComment by Melethia: The thing I liked about this one in voting (I gave it a 6) was the reflection in the upper windows - really made this more than just a building shot, in my opinion. Skewsme's suggestions are interesting - particularly the one about a cow on the roof.... |

The Big Houseby bmartuchComment by Melethia: Heh - looks like this one was worth it for the comments - Michigan fans are rabid, are they not? Definitely meets the challenge and you did a good job balancing the light to get detail both inside and out. |

The Harsh Effects of Winterby bmartuchComment by noraneko: Hi Bob,
I thought this was an interesting take on this challenge. Refreshing to see a field amidst all those flowers (including mine LOL). I love the curved lines in the background. |
