4 - Wheeling Suspension Bridgeby BudComment by bassbone: I like how the snow creates a feeling of dispair in the image - the angle of the bridge really draws my eye to the far side and the buildings all could be from a long ago time |

4 - Wheeling Suspension Bridgeby BudComment by DJWoodward: Nice capture of a bleak and dreary day. You've conveyed the mood very well.
The composition is very good but something is just very slightly off for me. I've had it up on my screen now for nearly a half hour as I write this and try to figure out what it is that I̢۪m missing.
My eye is fist drawn very nicely down the leading line to the far end of the bridge. Then it returns along the line of the bridge but it stalls looking for more at the top of the frame. It eventually comes down the abutment but stalls again in the darkness of the foreground. I think I would've liked to see the entire frame brought up slightly. Not much, only enough to direct the center line of the bridge to the corner of the frame. This would reduce the amount of darkness in the foreground, expose some more of the superstructure of the bridge and bring the far side of the river a bit more off the centerline of the frame.
This critique is nit-picking at most. The shot is quite nice as is!
BTWâ€Â¦ Thanks for starting the challenge

4 - Wheeling Suspension Bridgeby BudComment by Bruce_the_Robert: Excellent start to the challenge; if this is any indication, I'm going to enjoy playing here (both posting and commenting). I think my favorite part of this is the way everything at the other end of the expanse is hinting at disappearing into the fog, but it's actually still there. Nice. |

4 - Wheeling Suspension Bridgeby BudComment by colorcarnival: This reminds me of the one in Cincinnati. I like how you included the suspension arcing up in the background. Like others have said, I like how the haze adds to the mood of the photo. |

4 - Wheeling Suspension Bridgeby BudComment by SandyP: This is very dramatic, Bud. I'm a huge fan of cold winter gray days. I know most people who live in cold winters must think I'm crazy -- but in "always sunny" Texas, they are a welcome treat.
I love how you've composed this, and how the bridge tapers off into the mist. Beautiful!
